CODE OF CONDUCT
Objective:
The SACPA Members Forum is a professional space for discussion, learning, and sharing best practices in safeguarding. All members are expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, respect, and confidentiality.
1. Respect and Professionalism
- Treat all members with respect, regardless of experience, role, or perspective.
- Personal attacks, discrimination, harassment, or offensive language will not be tolerated.
- SACPA team and moderators have the power to remove any posts that violate the Code of Conduct.
2. Confidentiality and Anonymity
- Members may share case examples or in a sensitive and in a manner that maintains anonymity. Hence, all posts must respect confidentiality and follow data protection guidelines.
- Personal details of children, families, or colleagues must never be shared.
3. Sharing Information
- Contributions should be evidence-based, practical, and constructive.
- Avoid sharing unverified information; cite guidance, legislation, or research where applicable.
- Respect copyright and intellectual property.
4. Collaboration and Support
- Encourage dialogue and constructive feedback.
- Always present in the format: issue/concern/problem in very short format and move on to what the practitioner has thought of as a solution and other members add to various ways an issue can be presented.
- Refrain from judgmental language; aim to support and learn from each other.
5. Reporting Issues
- If you notice a breach of this code, report it to a moderator immediately.
- Moderators will review incidents confidentially and may issue warnings, remove posts, or suspend members as necessary.
6. Forum Integrity
- The forum is for professional discussion only.
- Commercial promotions or unrelated advertising are not permitted unless pre-approved.
7. Acceptance
- All members agree to abide by this Code of Conduct upon joining the forum.
- Repeated or serious breaches may result in removal from the forum.
